The Sacher torte is probably the most famous chocolate cake in the world. It was invented by Franz Sacher in 1832 for Prince Wenzel von Metternich in Vienna.
It’s a dense and moist chocolate cake, filled with apricot jam (also brushed with it on the top and around its edges) and then covered with a dark chocolate glaze.
The Sacher torte, in terms of taste and ingredients, is a really simple cake but so delicious and delicate in its own simplicity.
